Jay O'KeefeFounder & CEO
For five years, Jay worked at a medical cannabis dispensary in North San Diego. The shop cultivated their own high CBD plants (ACDC) and created CBD tinctures and Rick Simpson Oil for their terminally ill patrons. During that time, Jay was educated on how cannabidiol interacts with the body. Eventually, he opened a delivery service and for three years supplied medicinal cannabis products for folks with cancer and other chronic or debilitating conditions.Read Full Bio
One day he decided to formulate a CBD tincture for pets, and began to provide those formulations through his delivery business. This garnered a different clientele — these customers weren’t cannabis users, they just really loved their pets. Jay got overwhelming feedback, and many would report back in tears of joy due to the impact CBD had on the quality of their pets lives.
Jay began to fine-tune the product with meticulous effort. Animal’s endocannabinoid system is different than humans and ensuring that there is very little to no THC in his products was vital. People take on cannabinoids in a way that is unique to humans, but animals cannot psychologically process the effects of delta-9 THC. The next thing was achieving full-spectrum oil because cannabinoids work more succinctly when terpenes are involved. Once everything was in place, Jay was ready to launch. In October 2017, Bailey’s CBD was incorporated with the adorable face of Jay’s pug Bailey as the logo.

Wendy GaleanaVeterinarian Technician / Public Relations - Events
Wendy found an interest working with animals very shortly after graduating high school in 2006. She began working as a kennel attendant but quickly realized that she wanted to move up and become a veterinary technician. She attended Professional Veterinary Assistant School in Garden Grove California. With hard work and a few internships she learned what it takes to be a strong, knowledgeable vet tech. She loved working general practice, but her passion was emergency and surgery. Wendy had the privilege of working at Southern California Veterinary Specialty Hospital where she was able to really perfect her skills as a tech. She had the privilege of working side by side some of the best veterinarians in the country and able to assist in almost all specialty departments including neurology, cardiology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, internal medicine, oncology and holistic medicine. But still, her absolute favorite was emergency. To her, there was nothing more rewarding than assisting a veterinarian with an emergency surgery at 3 in the morning, recovering her patient and watching them go home as if nothing had ever happened. Nothing was more rewarding than performing CPR on a pet and bringing them back to life. Heartbreak and tears came along with working in ER but the good always outweighed the bad. A few months before Wendy was ready to take her California rvt test, she developed an autoimmune disease that would eventually prevent her from continuing her career as a technician. Fortunately, she found a new home at Arbor Animal Hospital where she is now a Veterinary pharmacy technician. Wendy is still currently managing her autoimmune disease-coincidentally, she found that cannabis has helped alleviate her chronic pain caused by her condition as well as keeping secondary issues under control. She has been a cannabis advocate for humans and pets ever since. Wendy met Jay at a cannabis education gathering. Safe and affordable hemp products are scarce for animals but there were various things about Bailey's CBD that caught her attention. She didn't hesitate to reach out to Jay and offer to help with his company. Even though Wendy's original goals to help pets didn't work out, Jay has given her an opportunity to help our four-legged family members in a new way.Read Full Bio
