How Much CBD Should I Give My Pet? | Bailey's CBD

If you are one of the many pet owner's out there that give your pet hemp derived CBD supplements, or if you are just looking into giving it to your pet, then I'm sure one of the first questions you are going to have is "how much CBD should I be giving my pet?" This is a tricky question, since most of what we know about CBD and dosing is anecdotal; however, thanks to the accumulation of data by leading veterinarian Dr. Robert Silver, DVM, MS, CVA who has been studying the effects of cannabinoids on pets for over 30 years, we have some insight as to what has been reported to benefit dogs and cats with certain conditions.

3 Tiers Of Use For Dogs:

• Tier 1: 0.5-1MG(1-2 drops)/10LB of animal weight is the low end (starting point)
• Tier 2: 1-2.5MG(2-5 drops)/10LB of animal weight is the middle ground
• Tier 3: 2.5-5MG(5-10 drops)/10LB of animal weight is the high end

Suggested Plan Of Use For Dogs:

It is suggested to start with Tier 1 dosing, twice daily and observe over one week. It may not be necessary to increase at this point.

However, if necessary, go on to Tier 2 twice daily and observe for another week.

If at this point, you are still not seeing desired results, you can increase to Tier 3 dosing, twice daily.

Cautions:

It has been reported that doses as high as 10MG/10LB of animal weight can cause sedation. Safe use in pregnant animals or animals intended for breeding has not been proven. If animal's condition worsens or does not improve, stop product administration and consult your veterinarian. An examination from a veterinarian is recommended prior to using CBD based products.
